I am still looking for any information about John Shipley. According to IL census records he was born in Kentucky ca. 1823, moved to Lawrence Co. IL by 1847 when he married Mary Rawlings. Eventually they moved to Christian Co. I think Mary may have died between 1870 & 72, I think John remarried to a Mrs. Edna Hammonds in 72. John and Mary had children, Zach, Ida, Henerietta, Lafayette and Richard. Zach married Hattie Carman (daughter of John & Julian Carman) in 1870. If anyone has any info on John, I would love to have it. I don't know his parents or siblings. Christian Co. is the last record I have found of him. Thanks. Deb Klein
