I did forward your message on to Kevin HOWLEY who manages the huge BLACKBURN family website soliciting any thoughts he may have. My theory is that she is the daughter of Samuel C. and Georgetta BLACKBURN of Iowa. Here are the clues that make me think that (all from the BLACKBURN database: While the database lists many "Eva's", only one has a dob "about 1868" which matches your 11 years old in 1880 fact. She was the first of 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls); could be that she was born in Missouri, though the database has her as born in Iowa. Her father, Samuel C. shows Ohio as his location of birth; mother from PA. The youngest child of Samuel C. and Georgetta was born in 1880; leading to a possible "split up" theory....that is, perhaps the mother died in childbirth and all the children were farmed out to relatives...since one family could not absorb all six, they were farmed out one or two per family (happened to my Illinois WILSONs, so not all that far fetched). "Poking around" the ALEXANDERs listed on the BLACKBURN database, I did find a Morrow County, Ohio mentioned. Is this the first you might have heard of Morrow County? It is listed next to an ALEXANDER wife surname of HOBSON; lots of HOBSONs from that part of Ohio. The 1880 census you quoted did not mention a county, but that is as close as I could get with about 8 minutes of research. The BLACKBURN website can be reviewed at the following address: <http://www.blackburn-tree.org/> Hope this helps! - Tom Wilson
