Hello All, Does someone have access to transcriptions to Rosemond Grove. I ordered a film with Pana Mound and Rosemond on it through the FHC and it went back already. I have just discovered another relative. I knew I should have kept the film on definite loan. I am looking for Mary Louisa Walser (nee Niehart) 2 Sep 1864-1910 to 1916 She lived in Macon County, Decatur, but it seems all the Niehart's were buried in Mound or Grove. I stumbled upon her when I notice the brother Felton (actually Valentine) was living with her and husband Benjamin. I appreciate any help. Sincerely, Stephanie
Sally, I don't think so, a cousin on the Cole side found that her husband John Cole was buried in the cemetery in Mt. Auburn but there was no stone. I just thought maybe she was listed as being in the Hunter family cemetery. Do you have a listing for John or Alice or Eliza Cole being buried in the cemetery in town? Thanks Heidi At 08:32 AM 1/8/03 EST, you wrote: >HI Heidi > >I could not find your Elisabeth Hunter Cole anywhere. I looked thru all of >my books. Susan HANON MATTHEWS was my 3-g-grandmother. I've done very little work on the Hanon line, but according to other researchers, she was the daughter of Michael Hanon. He is said to have been born in Ireland and died in 1817 in Gallatin, IL; his wife ____ Hannon died in 1838, in Sangamon, IL. There's a good chance of a connection to your Martin, because Susan's first child was named Martin, b. 1828. I would greatly appreciate any information you might have on the Hanon family! If either of you would like to have Aaron Matthews' descendants, please just let me know and I'd be happy to send that to you. Below is a list of Eli and Susan Hanon Matthews' children, according to a Hanon researcher. Nancy Brister, researching in IL: Matthews, Sharp, Hanon Children of Eli and Susan Matthews were: Martin W., born 1828, Illinois. Aaron V., born 1830, Christian Co, Illinois..............my g-g-grandfather, later migrated to Taney Co., MO Sarah M., born 1832, Christian Co., Illinois; m. George SLATER Elijah, born 1833, Illinois, m. Hannah DANE Mary A., born 1838, Illinois, m. Isaac GADBERRY Arminda Jane, born 1838, Illinois; she m. Charles COLLENBARGER Thomas Jefferson, born 1840, Edinburg, Christian Co.; m. 1) Mary Jane HALSTROM; 2) Roxie POTTS; 3) Mary Jane WALTERS James H. Rachael BURRIS Thank you for responding to my message. i would love to have your line information plus any earlier that you have.I found in The history of Christian Co. that Martin was born in April 1779 in Nashville, Tenn. married Sallie/Sarah Miller 10 Oct. 1823 in Christian Co but I have no death date. The only info that I have on Sally is that she was born in Ky. abt. 1807 and died 28 May 1862. I don't know who her parents were. I have a list of 9 children for them-Joseph Sarah, Susan, Cyrene, Elijah (my husbands ancestor),Jesse, Amy,Elnora and "rlima". Only have further info on Susan and Elijah. The history listed Michael (died 1817 in Shawnee Co.)as the father of Martin and Sarah (died 1838)as his mother. Do you have any info about Michael and Sarah? My father-in-law always said that family history said that Michael was a tory during the Revolutionary War. Any aid that you could give me would be great.MJ
