    3. Help! I'm trying to locate any info about James F. and Amy (nee Roberts) Blakemore, they had five children born in Christian Co. - Taylorville area. Children's names John, Paul, Joe, Jim, and Ruth. Birth dates run from around 1912 - 1919. Believe they moved into area after census, and moved from before the 1920 census, not for sure. Paul died in the late 1930s, and was returned to Taylorville area for burial from Alexander Co., IL. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim Blakemore

    1. Re: [ILCHRIST] Bulpitt
    2. HELLO Bulpitt was a little bit of wide spot in a curve just west side of Kincaid IL. My grandparnets lived there all of their lives. I used to ride all over there even before they built the lake their between Bulpitt and Tovey. Bulpitt did have a couple of stores and such. Its still there and it never did have a high population. But those areas are growing up so much and especially since its close to the lake now, the prices have went up too. I remember Bulpitt with its 3 land bowling alley and its abt 2 blocks either direction here and there. It was a small spread out place. That abt what I can remember of it right now. They do have a K of C hall there now too.Kincaid was a lot bigger than Bulpitt, a lot bigger. Its spread out and most of the old timers and families that used to live in both places were coal miners of the Peabody and or Crown Mines. My grandpa was one of them too. The place has really grown up since I have been gone over 20 yrs now. We went back for a visit a few yrs ago and I could see the changes then and can only guess what its looks like now. THANKS.....:-)* Sally Hathaway.... [email protected]

    2. I just found out that my Lithuanian grandmother, Frances Bucevicius, went first to Bulpitt after she emigrated. The sketchy information I have suggests she stayed with a family named Swinkunas at that time. The time period is between 1900-1905. My grandfather may also have been in the area; he was a coalminer. His name was Anthony Dainauskas. Can anyone give me information about this town? Is it primarily a mining town? Any information would be appreciated. Donna Yambasky Livonia, Michigan

    3. Hi list I already have answered a couple on the list. Those who wanted to know if there was anyone who was a paid researcher. I've only done a few lookups for people and if they need something copied or mailed to them thats all I ask. If you wanted to give something more or not that would be up to you. I do have a part time job and it would have to be as I could get to them but I'd try. Our Historical Society is only opened on Saturdays right now, in spring opened from Wed-Sat. Our Court house now has some really nice women who work there. The older women who wouldn't help people has died. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 06, 2000 2:18 PM Subject: ILCHRIST-D Digest V00 #10

    3. I am still looking for any information about John Shipley. According to IL census records he was born in Kentucky ca. 1823, moved to Lawrence Co. IL by 1847 when he married Mary Rawlings. Eventually they moved to Christian Co. I think Mary may have died between 1870 & 72, I think John remarried to a Mrs. Edna Hammonds in 72. John and Mary had children, Zach, Ida, Henerietta, Lafayette and Richard. Zach married Hattie Carman (daughter of John & Julian Carman) in 1870. If anyone has any info on John, I would love to have it. I don't know his parents or siblings. Christian Co. is the last record I have found of him. Thanks. Deb Klein

    3. Hello, I have a picture in my grandmother's family album of a woman, otherwise unidentified, with the last name of "Hinton" written below it. This picture looks as if it was taken around 1900 and was taken at "Tract Photographers," Pana, IL. Would love to know if this is one of my grandmother's cousins. She appears to be in her mid-20s at this time. Does this match up with anyone's Hinton line? My grandmother's maiden name was Porter, her parents were Albert Porter and Nancy Ann Stapleton.
