Hi, In answer to a Lutheran Cemetery in Champaign County near Broadlands, I found the following listing in my book on Champaign Co. Cemeteries. I found Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Section 18 of Ayers Township with Broadlands partially in Section 19. Could this be the cemetery you are looking for? The church and cemetery next to it are located in the northwest quarter of Setion 18. The mile markers at the corner of the church are 400N and 2400E. Cemetery was established in 1895 and the stones have been transcribed. I only have locations of cemeteries in this book, so you will have to find the transcribed list to help you locate your person's marker. There only seem to be 34 marker sections in the cemetery, so you may not have to look to hard if you are there and the book says the cemetery is well kept. Good luck Zoe Chandik at vehummer@aol.com
There is a Lutheran Cemetery in Flatville. It is called The Beckman. It is just east of Thomasville. Have you tried calling the Urbana Archives? They are in the Urbana Free Library. They have most of the cemeteries in a data base. Connie
Many thanks to the generous geneologists who answered my call. If anyone has access to a book listing the burials, I would like to know who my grandmother is buried next too. She has the right name and birthdate. Apparantly is not buried in McLean Co where husbands were buried. Elizabeth Buckles died 1904 in Champaign Co and is buried (acccording to the death record) Immanual Luthern Cemetery (Ayers) near Broadlands. Thanks Zoe. I need to ask the Archives if there is a book with the names and data. Does anyone know their fax number?
