In the Champaign County Herald, I did not locate any more local recaps after the one that appeared in 1892 for 1891. The paper appears to run through 1899 with 1894 missing. But there was an Urbana Weekly Courier that ran in 1894. ---------------- Joan Lund j-lund@uiuc.edu
Joan, I have been trying to located my great grandfather Edward MALEY, Jr. I believe he was born Feb 1860 Pesotum,Champaign Co.,IL (Parkville) and died around 1893. I do not know where he was living at the time. I believe he was buried at St. Patricks Cemetery in Tolono,Champaign Co.,IL. Did they have death certificates then or could there have been a write up in the Champaign County Heald stating when he died and etc.? I know who his wife was and have lots of information on her, Rose Ann GORMAN but not on my great grandfather and his parents, Edward MALEY, Sr. and Catherine WHALEN side. I have been unable to located which port they arrived in CA-1850 (Edward MALEY, Sr. & Catherine WHALEN) as their first son Michael MALEY was b 24-Dec-1850 Mobile,Mobile Co.,ALA. Their second son, Francis "Frank" MALEY was b 22-Sep-1852 Cipo,IN; and their third son, Philip MALEY was b 10-Nov-1854 IL but don't know where in IL and then my great grandfather Edward MALEY, Jr. b Feb 1860, if this is correct date d 1893. Any information will be greatly appreicated as to where I might find this information. Pat MALEY-CURTIS anglers@bullshoals.net
