The starting place should be the Urbana Free Library Genealogy Room. They have the most extensive collection and the most helpful staff of anywhere I've ever been (and that's a lot of places!) The collection is so organized that just a minimal search can turn up tons of information. Check out their web site. ----- Original Message ----- From: <KJMiller77@aol.com> To: <ILCHAMPA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2001 12:11 AM Subject: [ILCHAMPA-L] VITAL RECORDS > > Can anyone describe which agencies/organizations in Champaign County have > which vital records and for what time periods? > > This might include birth, death and marriage certificates. FYI.. The Urbana Free Library Archives Room also has started putting document information online. You can search what's online at this URL - http://www.prairienet.org/cgi-bin/texis/webinator/search?db=lha Then write them to request a copy of the document you want. -----Original Message----- From: jguiliano@compuserve.com [mailto:jguiliano@compuserve.com] Sent: Saturday, March 10, 2001 7:42 AM To: ILCHAMPA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILCHAMPA-L] VITAL RECORDS The starting place should be the Urbana Free Library Genealogy Room.
