You would need to contact the Illinois Regional Archives Depository, Williams Hall, Illinois State University, Campus Box 5500, Normal, IL 61790-5500 I've found they have a very quick turnaround. I recently requested a marriage record and had a copy of the marriage license in about a week. You'll need to provide any information you know just as you have here. They only charge for photocopies. The first five are $1.00 and $.10 each after that. You don't have to pay until they respond to your query and send you your copies (if available). They'll let you know the charges. Celia PS: they don't do email. >Greetings! > >I am new to this list and was wondering how far back do the Illinois >vital records go? > >I am seeking a death record for a Heinrich Wilhelm >KOOPMANN/KOOPMAN/KOPMAN/KOPMANN. >According to the information I have he died in Champaign Co 19 May >1889 at the age of >71. >Heinrich was Lutheran minister.
