Dear Fellow List Members, Seeking information on Lemuel Newton Bishop, who was born in OH: Parents: John Bishop and Nancy Welch.. according to LDS 1)LDS has two listings for his date of birth both with same date a. 14 Jan 1825... one lists OH... one lists Buck, Clark, OH 2)LDS has two listing for his marriage.. both to same woman Elsie Ann Bradford born RI married: a. 8 June 1845 Urbana, Champaign, IL.. Elsy A. Bradford b. 8 July 1847 Clark, OH Census: 1850 Goshen Twp., Champaign Co., OH 1860 Belflower Twp., Mc Lean Co., IL 1870 not found yet... may be in OH as in 1880 he has a 10 year old daughter listed born OH 1880 Kerr Twp., Champaign Co., IL I have not found them on the 1900 census yet... Lemuel N. Bishop was in Company F, 116 IL Infantry during the Civil War. Has anyone on the list researched this family? I think his son Stephen A. D. Bishop could be the same person as Stephen Douglas Arnold Bishop ( we suspect an alias in later years for Stephen) who was a Singer Sewing Machine agent in IL, IA and surrounding states.
