According to the listing of Champaign County records held by the IRAD, they don't have any birth records. However, you can access birth records by contacting the Champaign County Clerk; see web site: http://www.advancenet.net/~coclerk/ From there click on 'Vital Records' and you can see what they have available. A newer feature is the option to order on-line. The Illinois Regional Archives Depository (IRAD) web site is located at: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/irad/iradholdings.html From that page you can search the "Local Governmental Records Holdings Database." An IRAD Region map is located at: http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/irad/iradregn.html where you can see which counties are included in each of the 6 depository areas. Illinois State University includes all of east-central Illinois - Champaign, Piatt, Coles, Dougles, Ford, Vermilion, Livingston, McLean, etc. IRAD really is a great resource - take advantage of it! I have my request letters ready ahead of time so that as soon as I have received a response, I can send out the next request (they limit a request to two names). I recently requested some information for Livingston County - probate records. My response yielded two files totalling 198 pages which they photocopied and mailed in two packages. The cost - a little more than $20 for photocopies. When you send your letter be sure to include a sentence that authorizes them to bill you for photocopies exceeding $5.00. Otherwise, they will respond with the number of pages and wait for your answer before going ahead. I've found it just saves time to automatically include a sentence "You have my authorization to bill me for photocopies exceeding $5.00." Hope this helps! I'm looking for information on the August Iungerich family and any cousins that may be connected. Another cousin has set up a web page of old pictures that came from the William Iungerich's (oldest son of August) decedents that have no names on them. http://www.angelfire.com/co3/radiklysaved/Mysteryfamily1.html Any help identifying these people would be greatly appreciated.
