    1. [ILCHAMPA-L] Re: Derr/Durr/Dorr
    2. Donna, I don't know if this will help. I was scanning in my Great-Grandfather's Civil War Military and Pension records (about 100 pages worth.) In several affidavits I found references to A. J. DURR and later one with Andrew J. DURR and one with John H. DURR (who it is noted that he could not write more than to sign his name). My PITTMAN family was originally from Piatt co. and later moved to Mahomet and then Champaign. The affidavit states that they first met my Leonard PITTMAN in the spring of 1868. Leonard and family were living in Blue Ridge Twp., Piatt co IL near Mansfield at that time. The most recent affidavit appears to be 30 January 1890, though I could be (heaven forbid) wrong. I think that I had sent a message to this, or the Piatt co. list about seeing a DERR headstone in the Blue Ridge cemetery S. of Mansfield (although I have been known to get sidetracked and forgotten to send). The name struck because I have a friend here in TX with that name. I have a picture of it and if you are interested I'll scan it in and send it to you (once I find which pack it's in.) I hope that this gives you some clues.
