Sharon, I have several connections into the Strong Family, but do not find a James in my Family Group Sheets. However, checked the Champaign Co. Site, which has a wealth of information. There are 2 files for the Strong family there (part1 and part2). There is a James listed as being born in 1834. Here is person#3 info. 3. Ambrose Strong. Ambrose died on 15 Dec 1840 in Champaign, IL. Ambrose married Mary Springer. They had the following children: 21 i. John R. (1830-) 22 ii. Mary J. (1832-) 23 iii. James (1834-) 24 iv. Silas (1835-) 25 v. Margaret J. (1839-) 26 vi. Rebecca Sarah (1841-) Here is person#23 info. 23. James Strong. Born in 1834 in Champaign, IL. James was born in Champaign, IL 1834. He left Illinois and was in Oregon in 1860 at the age of 24 with Margaret J. Strong age 19 (born 1841) and two children George 6 yrs. and Josephine 3 yrs. Margaret J. was his sister. There is indication in the 1950 Champaign, IL Census that Mary (?) born 1813 in Ohio was his mother but the father was not mentioned. This Mary was 37 years of age in 1850. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sharon
