Pat, I'm sure that these RYAN's are somehow related to my RYAN's from the area of Crittenden Twp. (James RYAN), but at this point I cannot make any connections with the names you sent to me. I would like to thank you for the effort and I will try to keep you informed of any progress along these lines. Thanks! Kevin Miller

She was born in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland between 1815-1821. She married John LOWRY on June 3, 1848, in Thurles. The family emigrated to America in about 1865 and first resided in Peotone, Will County, Illinois. In 1871 they migrated to Crittenden Twp., Champaign County, Illinois. Margaret died on February 24, 1887, in Tolono, Champaign County, Illinois. She was buried in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tolono. Margaret (nee NOLAN) LOWRY had a brother, John NOLAN, who also emigrated to America. His life has been somewhat confusing to me and a few other researchers due to the abundance of "John Nolan's". I believe that John was born in 1815 in County Tipperary. I believe he married Ann DERMODY, but I cannot prove this relationship. John and Ann, I believe, were located in Wilmington, Will County, Illinois, and died there. Ann died in about 1866 and John died in about 1883. Between 1870-1879, I believe John relocated to Crittenden Twp., Champaign County, Illinois. This fact is found in a book entitled, "The Family of Matthew Jennett". John and Ann's daughter, Mary Ann NOLAN, married James JENNETT, son of Matthew JENNETT, in Champaign County on January 17, 1876. With regard to your relatives, John NOLAN, and his sister, Ellen NOLAN, I have a few questions: 1. Who are their parents and grandparents? 2. Where is Ivesdale? Is it in Champaign County, IL? 3. You say that John is now 97 years of age. How much family history does he remember? Thanks! Kevin Miller --part1_bc.1f31fefe.29607d30_boundary--
Looking for anyone researching the LOWRY, NOLAN and/or RYAN families of Champaign County. Most of these ancestors lived in the area of Tolono or Philo. Thanks! Kevin Miller

Dear Fellow List Members, Seeking information on Lemuel Newton Bishop, who was born in OH: Parents: John Bishop and Nancy Welch.. according to LDS 1)LDS has two listings for his date of birth both with same date a. 14 Jan 1825... one lists OH... one lists Buck, Clark, OH 2)LDS has two listing for his marriage.. both to same woman Elsie Ann Bradford born RI married: a. 8 June 1845 Urbana, Champaign, IL.. Elsy A. Bradford b. 8 July 1847 Clark, OH Census: 1850 Goshen Twp., Champaign Co., OH 1860 Belflower Twp., Mc Lean Co., IL 1870 not found yet... may be in OH as in 1880 he has a 10 year old daughter listed born OH 1880 Kerr Twp., Champaign Co., IL I have not found them on the 1900 census yet... Lemuel N. Bishop was in Company F, 116 IL Infantry during the Civil War. Has anyone on the list researched this family? I think his son Stephen A. D. Bishop could be the same person as Stephen Douglas Arnold Bishop ( we suspect an alias in later years for Stephen) who was a Singer Sewing Machine agent in IL, IA and surrounding states. If anyone can shed some light on this family, please contact me at vlaldridge@sigecom.net Regards, Virginia L. Aldridge Evansville IN
Dan, Who are you looking for in Kopmann Cemetery? I was there last summer and took photos of many Flessner, Habben, Bohlen Saathoff and Sage headstones. Colleen
Could SKS pls tell me where KOPMANN Cemetery is? I think it is near "Flatville"(?), but I'm not sure where "Flatville" is. Also, is there someone who could do lookups in this cemetery? Or maybe a place I can write to see who is buried in this cemetery (names, dates, etc.) Thanks! Dan
