Hello, I'm looking for my great grandfather, William V Hardy. I do not know positively that his middle initial is V - that's simply been "passed down" He did married my great grandmother, Lettia Luticia SNELLEN McHenry Bagby (1843-1912) December 25, 1875 in Henderson County, Illinois. I have a copy of their "marriage License" - a little sliver of paper I received from the County Clerk. My grandmother remembers that he was married before because he had his children from a previous marriage living with them. My grandmother, Ada May HARDY Robinson, was born in 1877 in Hancock County Illinois. Mr Hardy left, with his children from previous marriage, in the middle of the night when Ada was 4 or 5 years old. They never saw or heard from him again. She remembers him being tall, thin, straight, having a red beard, and proud of his Irish decent. I would love to find any info on this man! All ideas will be greatly appreciated! Charlene, I was just curious, I have a John Cloyd married 19 Jan 1854 in Clinton county, IN to Malindy Jane Bailey b. 10 Dec 1835 VA. I am looking for the obits on C(arl) F(rederick) Schlensker b. 11 Jun 1826 and died 23 Apr. 1904 and his wife Eliza Lifeheight (Leifheit?) Schlensker b. 3 Aug. 1827 and died 19 Feb. 1907. Dear List Members: On the Champaign Co, IL GenWeb, The USGen Web Project there was a statement on page 2 on History of Champaign Township that "The first public or free school in the township, was taught by Mrs. M. A. Fletcher, assisted by her son, in the winter of 1855-6. It was held in the old "Goose Pond" Church. I believe that this church school may have been in Urbana. My husband's Great-grandmother was Laura Ann Fletcher who was born in Champaign, IL in 1833. Her husband, James Strong was born in 1832, also in Champaign, IL. We have not been able to find proof of birth for these two individual in Champaign. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sharon California

Sharon, I have several connections into the Strong Family, but do not find a James in my Family Group Sheets. However, checked the Champaign Co. Site, which has a wealth of information. There are 2 files for the Strong family there (part1 and part2). There is a James listed as being born in 1834. Here is person#3 info. 3. Ambrose Strong. Ambrose died on 15 Dec 1840 in Champaign, IL. I want to see if William WILLSEY (maybe spelled WILSEY) and his wife Maria were living at 308 1/2 W. Tremont St. or at another address. I know they were at that address in 1900 from the Fed. Census. I'm trying to see if their daughter Elizabeth ROSE nee WILLSEY moved in with them when her husband was killed in 1896. Elizabeth and John S.
