Rowley Born in ILLinois 9-9-1882 died 10-20-1941,from his death certificate i have his father as Franklin Rowley born in ILL. and his mother Martha Rowley (Cohagan) Born in ILL. According to the Missouri 1920 Census he lived in Vandalia Missouri on a streeet ( Hardin ) with his wife Nellie F. Rowley (Lakin) b. 1893 d. 1966 At this time 5 kids were born and lived with them, Elmer Rowley b.1909 in MO. George Rowley b.1911 in MO. Richard Rowley b.1913 in MO. Nellie Rowley b. 1914 in MO. Next door to them the Census shows that a George Lakin b.1874 in ILLinois with his wife and kids. This would be my greatgrandfather and family.(Nellie's mother and father) Ellen Lakin b.1852 (wife) Thomas Lakin b.1897 son Mary Lakin b.1903 daughter in law Charlie Holland b.1902 grandson I also found a David Rowley b1880 in ILL. that i believe to be my grandfathers brother(brother of Joseph). He lived on State Street with his family. Mamie Rowley b.1881 wife Earl Rowley b.1907 son Ralph Rowley b.1913 son Hallie Rowley b. 1918 The reason i believe David is my grandfather's brother is Joseph Rowley,George Lakin and David Rowley all three work at the same Brick plant and lived within a block of each other, at the time 1920 Vandalia Missouri's population was under 1,000 and that his mother and father were also born in ILL. If any of these names ring a bell with you please contact me, or if you are at the county seat doing research on birth records and come across my grandfather's records and let me know it would be greatly appreciated.Im sorry i dont know the county in Illinois that he was born just the dates and parents names, and have not found the family of Franklin and Martha in any Census. Thank you, John A. Rowley johnarowley@yahoo.com
