I started my research in Fillmore County, NE and have ended up in Carroll County, IL.. As I research my own ancestors I continuously come up with the same names in both counties. I have traced my heritage back to Schreiners, Keils, Fuchs, Riehls, Plocks and Appels, Henkels and Hartmanns in Carroll County as early as the 1860s. All of these names have been found in Fillmore County, NE in more recent census images and can be traced pack to Carroll County as well. Does anyone know of any reason so many people who weren't necessarily related yet would leave one little bitty area and end up together in another little bitty area in the middle of nowhere? And if anyone has any info or connection to the following Carroll County natives, I would love to pick your brain.
