I don't know how true this is, but I am related to George Geisinger who settled in Whiteside County, IL. Both the Ginkinger and Geisingers seem to have originated in PA and/or MD. My great grandmother Amanda Elizabeth Geisinger was born in Middleton, Frederick Co., MD 19 May 1849. She married Thaddeus W. Graves 14 June 1871 in Illinois. I will gladly share what information I have on this family if you think we have a connection.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Yg.2ADE/262.319.320.413.1 Message Board Post: Found your listing while surfing. My Gr-gr grandmother was a Maggie Ginkinger d/o Henry and Julie anna Pierpont Ginkinger of LeHighCo PA. My family spelled it Ginkinger but many other spell it Kinkinger. Still it's a hard name to trace. Maggie married a Thomas Crabtree in PA in the late 1860's and they moved to Whiteside Co Il where she died after having 2 children. (Actually, she is buried in MN near her sister's place) They were then raised by her sister Barbara Ginkinger who married a Mr. Weikel also from PA. They lived in MArshall, MN. I totally lose track of Henry and Julie Ginkinger after the 1850 census. They had listed children then as Malrara, Nathaniel, and Barbara. I know about the family before Henry but cannot find them ever again. Can you help on this name? Thanks! Lynne

Ancestors or Descendants. I can't help with descendants, as I have only what you have, but here is some ancestor information. According to my information, which came from another researcher and has not been independantly verified, Joseph Bowman was the son of Henry Bowman (b. abt. 1850) and Alice Warfield (b. about 1852, Carroll Co., Illinois) Henry and Alice were married about 1870. Henry and Alice had the following children: Elmer Bowman (b. abt. 1872) Charles Bowman (b. abt. 1875) Frank Bowman (b. abt. 1878) Harvey Bowman (b. abt. 1880) Joseph Bowman (b. abt. 1882) Wallace Bowman (b. abt. 1885) Allen Bowman (b. abt. 1887) Clara Bowman (b. abt. 1890) John Bowman (b. abt. 1892) Nellie Bowman (b. abt. 1895) --- Alice Warfield's parents were Joseph Warfield and Elizabeth Sword. Joseph Warfield's parents were Nicholas Warfield and Elizabeth Leggett (Not absolutely sure on Leggett being the last name.) I'm currently stuck on this Nicholas Warfield (b. 1796, probably in MD)! I have a myfamily.com web site devoted to the "Warfields of Carroll County, Illinois. I would be happy to add you to this site if you just drop me a line.
