I don't know how true this is, but I am related to George Geisinger who settled in Whiteside County, IL. Both the Ginkinger and Geisingers seem to have originated in PA and/or MD. My great grandmother Amanda Elizabeth Geisinger was born in Middleton, Frederick Co., MD 19 May 1849. She married Thaddeus W. Graves 14 June 1871 in Illinois. I will gladly share what information I have on this family if you think we have a connection.

My Gr-gr grandmother was a Maggie Ginkinger d/o Henry and Julie anna Pierpont Ginkinger of LeHighCo PA. My family spelled it Ginkinger but many other spell it Kinkinger. Still it's a hard name to trace. Maggie married a Thomas Crabtree in PA in the late 1860's and they moved to Whiteside Co Il where she died after having 2 children. (Actually, she is buried in MN near her sister's place) They were then raised by her sister Barbara Ginkinger who married a Mr. Weikel also from PA. They lived in MArshall, MN. I totally lose track of Henry and Julie Ginkinger after the 1850 census. They had listed children then as Malrara, Nathaniel, and Barbara. I know about the family before Henry but cannot find them ever again. Can you help on this name? Thanks! Lynne
