    1. OLSON Farm, Chadwick, IL
    2. Stacey Cox
    3. Hi all! Wondering if someone can help me out with this... I'd really like a photo of my great-grandparent's farm. From memory, my grandfather remembers that to get to it, you go to the end of Main Street (Chadwick)across the railroad tracks, hang a right at the end of main, and their farm, which at one point had their surname painted on the barn, is the second farm out. He doesn't remember the farm having an address; of course, the last time he lived there was pre WWII. If anyone can grab a photo or maybe just clarify this request, I'd appreciate it! :) Stacey _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Yg.2ADE/918.1 Message Board Post: I consulted the Cemetery Tombstone Index for Carroll County and they do not appear in that reference. All the cemeteries were walked and read in 1977. I consulted the Law-Jones Funeral Index, which covers the burials performed by them or funeral homes they bought over the years. It lists the following: Fred Herman Olson - d. 17 Sep 1977 b. 25 June 1890 buried in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa Marie (Leniar) Olson - d. 20 August 1958 b. 2 July 1891 buried in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton, Iowa. Clinton Iowa is located across the river from Carroll County. That is approximately 20-30 miles from Chadwick IL.

    1. Cemetery lookup request - Carroll County, IL - OLSON
    2. Stacey Cox
    3. Hi! Wondering if anyone could do a quick lookup for me. Bob Mosher has already checked the Mt. Carroll, Wysox, York and Fairhaven Township Cemetery Books... and my ggrandparents are not there. My ggrandparents are: Fred Herman OLSON (died sometime in the 1970's, I believe) Marie Linnea (Carlstein/Carlsten) OLSON (I believe died before her husband) Both were born in Sweden; Fred abt. 1891 and Marie abt. 1892. They lived on a farm in Chadwick. Chadwick is in the northeast corner of Fairhaven, which is close to Salem, Elkhorn Grove and Lima townships... they may be somewhere in there! I'd also appreciate an email if any of you are following this family. THANKS!! I am trying to find my ggrandparents. Their names were Fred Herman Olson and Marie Linnea (Carlstein) Olson. Fred died in the 1970's and I believe Marie died before this. Both were born in Sweden. From another researcher, I've already learned they are NOT in Mt. Carroll, Wysox, York and Fairhaven Township Cemetery Books. They lived in Chadwick, IL, which I understand to be in the Fairhaven township. They may be here or somewhere nearby. Thanks! Stacey

    1. New Member Introduction
    2. Mike Stoesz
    3. Good morning; I would like to introduce myself as a new member of this list. My name is Michael Stoesz (Mike)from Laramie, Wyoming. I am interested in finding out about my ancestors from the Mt. Carrol and Hanover, IL area. My family names are: CHARLES JEFFERS & ELIZABETH WILLIAMSON JEFFERS; ROBERT WILLIAMSON; JOHN WILLIAMSON & MARGARET SPEER WILLIAMSON; WILLIAM T. JAMES & SUSAN JEFFERS; WINFIELD SCOTT JAMES & LENA RUTH LAMBERT; JOHN YATMAN LAMBERT & RUTH ELLEN COGSWELL. I do have some dates for births, marriages and deaths. But, of course most need verification. Many of my family members are interred at Zion Cemetary, Mt. Carroll. We are planning a family genealogy trip to Illinois and Indiana in late May this year. My wifes family settled in the St. Anne, Ill area and Benton County, Indiana area. I would like to photograph family homes/farms, burial sites and meet with descendants if possible. Best wishes to all, Mike mstoesz@wyoming.com
