My great great grandmother Ann Sanderson married James Nethery in Galena, IL in 1858. Ann was born circa 1822 in Ireland. Ann had a brother William Sanderson who was born circa May 1836/1834 in County Monaghan, Ireland. He married Margaret Wells. They lived in the Hanover, IL area and buried in the Old Log Church Cemetery. Ann and William had a sister Mary Sanderson who married Samuel Corbett. Mary was born February 1830. Sam and Mary had a daughter Mary. I'm not sure if Ann, William, and Mary had any other siblings as each of their obituaries don't mention any. They could have died before and were not just mentioned. Samuel and Mary Sanderson Corbett lived in the Washington Township, Carroll County, IL. Please keep my name/email on file so we can see if there is a connection. Thanks for responding to my query. Email me if you like. jneth3@charter.net james a. nethery

Belva's mother died in childbirth. My grandfather (Belva's son) does not know Belva's mother's name. But he does remember that Belva's aunt was married to a Gillespie - and that Belva 'went by' the name Gillespie as much as the name Ross. Belva married Samuel Harrison 'Harry' Nesbitt. They are both buried in Mt Carroll. I found Belva living with Isaac and Emma Gillespie in the 1900 census. I believe Isaac's first wife, Matilda White, is Belva's maternal aunt. Do you have any info on a sister to Matilda that married a Ross? I am also interested in info on a Gillespie (possibly a banker?) who invested in a cattle venture with Harry Nesbitt.Your response is greatly appreciated and I am willing to share what little info I have. Thanks! Karlene Nesbitt White

The only listings we have on the Jo Daviess County website for the surname WALLACE in Warren is at Elmwood. There was no Timothy Wallace. WALLACE Hattie 1895-1962 WALLACE Joseph M 1858-1922 Stop by the Jo Daviess site at www.rootsweb.com/~iljodavi/. I did a quick search using WALLACE and got over 30 hits for articles. Of course, many of those will be references to given name and not surname. Good Luck! Karlene Nesbitt White Co-CC, Jo Daviess County IL USGenWeb

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Yg.2ADE/924.1 Message Board Post: You and everyone else!!!! It appears that your family line comes from Lewis, the son of Augustus, son of "Peole". My husband's family descends from Oris, son of Augustus, son of "Peole". Unfortunately I doubt that I have anymore about these two mysterious people than you do, but I do know that Cecelia is buried in the Center Hill Cemetery. She is buried with her second husband John Airhart. It is my assumption (as well as most others) that Peole (if that is his real name) died sometime in PA or MD before the family made the move to Illinois. Cecelia was remarried there and had two children before coming to Carroll County about 1861. I have found nothing in my years of searching to support that Cecelia's last name was Rose or that her husbands name was "Peole". This has been passed down as fact through family legend, but no record has ever proven that fact. The family story goes that Cecelia was either married/widowed/divorced, etc and had a child named Adelaide. Cecelia immigrated from Germany. "Peole" was married and had a child (possibly 3) and came from Germany. Both lost their spouses some how, either divorce or death etc. Cecelia and "Peole" married and had Molly, George, Priscilla, Augustus and Peter. Sometime after Augustus was born "Peole" died. Cecelia then married John Airhart and they had two children in MD or PA. Then all of them end up in Carroll COunty about 1861. I have yet to find them as a family unit anywhere in PA or MD. There are several other descendents of this line researching and we find ourselves all in the same boat. I would be glad to share what I can and would like to learn more on your line.
