Hello All! Looking for ANY info on my great grandfather, Harry ROGERS & his second wife, Jeanette GROTH. Harry was married first to Louise CURTIS in 1897. They were divorced in 1904. Harry then disappeared. I found him living in Savanna 1904 & marrying Jeanette 1905 in Rock Island. They were still married & living in Savanna in 1909 when Harry's father died in Port Byron. Harry's mother moved to Portland, OR abt 1911. Harry moved there also about this time. I haven't been able to find anything on Jeanette or if they had any children. But I do know that at some point, Harry & Jeanette also divorced. I'm not sure if Harry married between 1911 & 1918, but he married again in 1918 and she also divorced him in 1920. There was at least another married before his death in 1942 Portland, OR as he is listed on his death cert as a widower. The 1918 wife was still living at this time, so she can't be the wife mentioned. This is a pretty neat story, as my grandfather from marriage #1 spent his life looking for siblings and his father. I found Harry 2 years ago, along with a great uncle that we never knew we had (from the 1918 marriage). I just met Uncle Bob last week for the first time. And now I am trying to find out if Harry & Jeanette had any children. Does anyone recognize any of the above or has access to the 1910 census? Any help greatly appreciated!!! While looking through microfilm of the Carroll Co. Mirror for 1874, I came across the following obituary. This is the second reference I have come across to Joseph Warfield living on "Preston Prairie" in Carroll County. Can anyone tell me where this would be? -------------------- August 21, 1874 An Old Landmark Gone Owing to our absence we omitted to mention at the time it occurred, the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Sword, at the residence of her son-in-law, Joseph Warfield, on Preston Prairie, July 11th, 1874. Mrs. Sword was aged 89 years, 1 month and five days, and had been a resident of Carroll County since 1846. She was born in Franklin County, PA. She was the mother of seven children, had sixty-five grand children, and eighty-seven great grandchildren. She was buried at Cherry Grove, her former home. She was probably the oldest person in the county.

They had 7 children together: Mary; Fidela; William; Elijah Arron; Lewis Edward; John Francis; and Elizabeth C. His 3rd wife he married in Carroll County in 1849, Leah Sarah Fickes.
