Thanks for your reply. Looked for a Ross/White marriage but the IL statewide database doesn't have a listing to match. Do you know of a Savanna Gillespie who would have been a banker?
I know nothing of Matilda White since she died well before my father was born in 1916. I only know the name, and the fact that Isaac is buried with both Matilda and Emma at Zion Cemetery. His parents, James and his wife are also at Zion.
My Ggrandfather, Harrison 'Harry' Nesbitt, married Belva Ross/Gillespie in 1911. Belva's mother died in childbirth and she was raised by a maternal aunt who had married a Gillespie. This info came from my grandfather but he couldn't remember first names or the aunt's maiden name. He did say that Belva went by the name Gillespie as often as the name Ross. Harry and Belva are buried in Mt Carroll. In the 1910 census, I finally found Belva, age 25, living with Isaac and Emma Gillespie on Savanna Ridge Rd in Washington Twp. From your post, I learned that Isaac's first wife was Matilda White. Since Isaac married Emma in 1908, Matilda would be Belva's maternal aunt. Do you have any more info on Matilda, her parents or siblings? Also, my GGGgrandparents, Michael Nesbitt and Ellen Cox came from Co Monaghan in 1854. They were in Reading PA before coming to Galena, then Hanover, before finally settling at the Zion, Washington Twp. They are buried at the Zion Cemetery. My GGgrandparents, Charles Nesbitt and Agnes Sanderson are also buried at Zion.

THanks for responding. Well, your Elizabeth is the closest match I have found. My stubborn old Fitzsimmons line just didn't keep any records of their ancestors! It's so frustrating. I will keep looking for Fitz's in IL. That where I think they got their start. As far as age goes, the Fitz's I know from the past all lived to their early to late 80's. I think they were just too stubborn to die! Will let you know if I find anything else.
