    1. Re: Hyzer
    2. You mentioned you were from the William line. The youngest son of William and Mercey Wheaton Hyzer was John Harry Hyzer b. in 1876. I think that he may be my fathers step father. The census in 1920 Liberty, NY shows he is married to a Lora or Flora and has two sons William and John. Do you know this family? Linda

    1. Re: Jeremiah Slick b 1822 MD
    2. Hi Jerry: Well, that settles the issue. According to that notice, Jeremiah surely was not related to the Frederick Co. Slick's. I had thought that perhaps he might be the s/o Jacob Slick=Margaret Otto, in that Jacob died young and Margaret was left to raise the kids, but she appears to have had them all with her until they became of age. Thus, at this point,I have no idea who the parents of Jeremiah were. Also, that kind of rules out any connection to William Slick, the Rev. War Vet. George Wright <gfwright@earthlink.net>

    1. Re: Naturalization Papers Update
    2. This is a update. I have gone back to the Carroll Co, Gen Soc. Page and have found the following: Nat. Applications... Peter CHRISTENSON, DEN, Date of intent filed 10-15-1881, Vol. 8, pg. 25 Nat. Granted Paul ANDERSON, GER, Vol 1, pg. 175, date 10-20-1876 Samuel LARSEN, Vol 1, pg 345, date 10-25-1880 Peter CHRISTENSON, DEN, Vol.1, pg 222 date 4-5-1886 I do not find an application listed for either Paul ANDERSON nor Samuel LARSON, but would hazard a guess they did in fact apply in Savannah, Carroll Co, IL. Per the 1900 census listing Crist. LARSEN (who I believe to be the father of Samuel) had applied for Nat. as of the time of the census, but no listing is shown on the Carroll Co, site for either application or issuance.. Another quick note...Paul ANDERSON was actually from DEN. he is listed on the site as from GER. which may very well be where he sailed from, or might have listed as such because of the 1864 war of DEN and GER., where Germany took control of an area of Denmark. The nat. date of 1876 agrees with the date shown in the 1900 census listing for Paul so am about 99% certian this is his listing in spite of the GER notation.

    1. Naturalization Papers
    2. I have located an indexed listing of the naturalization papers of Paul ANDERSON ( immg. 1865; Vol.1, pg 175, Germany, nat. 10-20-1876) and Samuel LARSON (immg 1873; Vol.1, pg. 345, Denmark, nat.10-25-1880) on the Carroll Co, IL website. Only problen is the gen. soc. and the local county office say they can not find Vol. 1 which is where the documents are contained. I have been working with Anne Haliotis of the Carroll Co, Gen Soc. and she says the Vol. 1 is there, but the index listing on the Carroll Co site is incorrect and they (Paul ANDERSON & Samuel LARSON) are not found in this Vol. She said she will search for the records when she gets the time, but it's been since March of this year, and I have heard nothing. I have e-mailed her, but no reply. Is there anyone out there who can maybe help me??? I really would appreciate it! Thanks in advance! Connie

    1. Savannah,Carroll Co, IL ANDERSON / LARSEN/ CHRISTENSON
    2. Searching for the Paul ANDERSON family who came from Denmark in 1865 and settled in Savannah, Carroll Co, IL. In 1870 the family consisted of Paul, wife Jensena, children Elizabeth, Fred and Christon. Also living with them was brother of Jensena, Peter CHRISTENSON. Oldest daughter Elizabeth married Samuel LARSON (of Denmark immg. 1873) in Savannah on 2-23-1877. Both the ANDERSON and the LARSON families moved to Smith Co, KS in the 1880's. The 1900 Carroll Co, IL census finds Crist (b. 1-1825) & Bolettie (b.3-1835) LARSON both of DEN (immg. 1887). I believe these to be the parents of Samuel LARSON. Next door is Mary ANDERSON who upon examining the 1800 census might well be Mary LARSON who married Andrew ANDERSON (poss. brother to Paul ANDERSON) The next house finds John LARSEN (b. 1835, immg 1872) and wife Alsa. I have no additional info of Peter CHRISTENSON. ANY BODY HAVE ANY INFO???
