Publication Date: November 18, 1993 Peoria Journal Star Page: C7 KEWANEE -- E. Lloyd Armstrong, 90, died at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1993, at Oakwood Health Care Center. Born Jan. 28, 1903, in Elmira to William and Mathilda McDonald Armstrong, he married Florence Richards on Dec. 24, 1930, in Neponset. She died Aug. 8, 1991. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and two infant sisters. Surviving are one sister, Anna Ruth Norton of Neponset; and many nieces and nephews. A farmer in rural Neponset, he retired in 1984. He was a substitute mail carrier and a school bus driver. He and his wife had a milk route in Neponset for many years. He was a member of Bureau County Farm Bureau, Neponset Fireman's Association, Neponset Farmers Elevator and a lifetime member of the Kewanee Historical Society and Eagles Lodge. He was a former member of Elmira Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee, where visitation will be one hour before services. James Breed will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Historical Society.
