    1. [ILBUREAU-L] HEATON-Bureau County
    2. Matthews
    3. Sorry...routed this wrong last time: My fourth great grandfather Rees HEATON of Bureau County, IL was born February 7, 1783. He lived in Greene Co., PA during his childhood and married Sarah Dell Weaver . In 1814 Mr. Heaton and family immigrated to Trumbull County, Ohio, and in 1836 to Bureau County, Ill., and settled at Heaton's Point in Bureau Township. He resided there until his death which occurred June 7, 1878. They were the parents of eight children, five of whom are living, viz.: William W., now a resident of Cherokee County, Kan.; Isaac, our subject; Abagail, wife of Harrison Epperson, of Afton, Union Co., Iowa: Dan of Frontier County, Neb,; Elizabeth, wife of S.R. Elliott of Dover Township; Nancy, wife of Hezekiah Epperson, died in November, 1865; Hannah, wife of James Wilson of Dover Township, died in 1852; Cyrus R. died February 1845. Have alot of information to share and would like to learn more about Rees's ancestors, his descendants as well as the descendants of his siblings. Any cousins out there? Linda Matthews Redmond, WA

    1. Re: [ILBUREAU-L] Lots of Bureau County Names

    3. Well, I'd like to know if there is a connection between your NOBLE and Sarah NOBLE m. John NORTON, very early settlers of the area from Brawby, Yorkshire England. My Bureau Co Surnames (so far) are NORTON (yea, I know...the Norton's founded the first Methodist church in Neponset ...my great great grandfather Robert Norton was killed by a falling tree in Barren Grove and left his wife Mary Robinson Norton and 9 kids behind), NOBLE and the eternally lost WOODWARD...from there the Woodward wandered over into Henry Co (if anyone thinks their relatives might have done so also, let me know...I'm the Henry Co ILGenWeb Project County Coordinator and may be able to help) My Bureau CO line relation goes like this John Norton m. Sarah Noble (gggg grandparents) Robert Norton m. Mary Robinson (ggg grandparents) Mary Methilda Norton m. William Henry Woodward (gg grandparents) Richard Woodward m. Eliza Lamb (he was raised in Bureau, married and settled in Henry Co) (*great grandparents) Any takers???????? At 11:20 PM 6/10/98 -0700, Matthews wrote: >I just joined this mailing list last night. 1. Re: [ILBUREAU-L] George BINGE
    2. Susie Martin-Rott
    3. Sorry I can't lend much light on this except that George Norton was the brother of my gg grandfather Robert Norton, who died young in an accident in Barren Grove. The Norton family were also from Brawby and established the Methodist Church in Neponset. I found on the list of Voters and Taxpayers of Neponset Township in 1877 the following BINGE listings: Binge, George, a farmer Binge, John, a farmer so it is clear there must have been more than one George if yours died in 1862...that's about all I came up with in my limited items at hand for Bureau County... 3. I was glad to see the creation of this list as I have a genealogical puzzle involving Bureau County. I am researching the Binge family, in particular George Binge who came from Yorkshire England. He settled in Brawby (which I understand was a former name for Neponset) He and others in the area came from the Brawby, Yorkshire, England. I have a copy of his will which was drawn in Buearu County on 8 Nov 1862. In it he named William Norton of Brawby and Thomas Grattidge of Mineral as co- executors of his estate. The will was witnessed by George Norton and John Stabler. The final settlement of this will was made in March of 1874 when the assets were distributed to his nieces and nephews in Yorkshire, England. He died in Neponset and is said to be buried in Neponset Cemetery. Does anyone have any information on this man or his property ? He left what appeared to be a generous estate for the times. His money went to relatives in England. His Illinois property went to his nephew, John Binge who lived in Walnut Creek in Knox County. I welcome any clues, hints or suggestions for additional research locations. Diane Binge Kirkwood Stuart FL

    1. [ILBUREAU-L] Peter and Nancy TRIPLETT ca 1850
    2. PJCARIS
    3. Hello Bureau County Researchers! I am researching Peter and Nancy CONAWAY TRIPLETT who were on the 1850 Dover Township Census with six month old daughter, Mary Ellen. They returned to Ohio shortly after the census was taken, as they were not on the 1855 Illinois State Census. Is anyone familiar with these people? Priscilla Caris
