The McKinney's came to IL first while the Sage family followed. The Sage family married into the Hollingshead family in Jennings Co., IN. 1. [ILBUREAU-L] Italian Immigration
    2. Beth Bostian
    3. Hello, My maternal g-grandparents immigrated to Bureau County from Italy between 1890-1900. I had (mistakenly) assumed they must have come through Ellis Island, however some research has indicated they might have come through New Orleans and travelled up the Mississippi. Does anyone know (or know of a resource) for Italian immigration either to Illinois or Bureau County specifically? Thanks. 1. [ILBUREAU-L] COGGER, WILLIAMSON, DODDS, ESTES
    2. Ida Estes
    3. I am seeking information on the following: 1. A Mr. COGGGER who married Fannie ESTES. Fannie was born in Golf Twp, Bureau Co in 1875. She died in 1910 and is buried next to her parents James and Myra ESTES in the Sheffield Cemetery, Concord Twp. 2. William E. WILLIAMSON - he married Effie ESTES (Fannie's sister). She was born abt 1882 in Gold Twp, Bureau Co. She died in 1912 and is buried in the Sheffield Cemetery, Concord Twp. 3. Gertrude DODDS - she married Joseph Monroe ESTES, a brother to Fannie and Effie, on June 17, 1936. Joseph also was born in Gold Twp - Feb 17, 1896. Joseph had been married for about twenty years prior to his marriage to Gertrude, but I have no information on that marriage. Gertrude I have been told was a school teacher somewhere in Bureau County. Joseph at sometime was in Montana, but returned to Bureau County and later to Livingston County, IL where he and Gertrude both died and are buried. 4. William Franklin ESTES - he is the brother of Fannie, Effie and Joseph. All I know of his is that he was born abt 1879 and is buried somewhere in Bureau County. He and his brother, Joseph, at one time had a blacksmith shop in Sheffield. I will appreciate any help anyone might offer. Thank you, Ida

I don't have a phone number, but I looked in the Illinois State Genealogy Society's Cemetery Location Project website: http://smtp.tbox.com/isgs/ilcemetery-al/bureau.html Sandhill Baptist Cemetery is listed there as being an active cemetery. It is in Manlius Township, not Wyanet Township. You may find it at: Section 25 Twp 17N Range 07E The Illinois Department of Transportation has great maps of Illinois counties & towns. They feature cemeteries on them and seem to be quite current. You may purchase them by inquiring at: Map Sales - Room 121 Illinois Department of Transportation 2300 S. 3. The town and the township of Wyanet is in Bureau County. I used to go to a dentist in Wyanet before I moved away from Illinois 18 years ago. Unfortunately, I can't help with the original question about Sandhill Church but I can make a few suggestions. Robert gave you an address but I also found a phone number too on www.switchboard.com for the church he mentions. It is: First Baptist Church-Manlius RR 1 Box 195 Wyanet, IL 61379-9607 Phone: (815)445-2094 Yet another possibility is to contact the Baptist Church in Princeton, the county seat and the next town east of Wyanet to see if they have any suggestions. First Baptist Church 1719 S Euclid Ave Princeton, IL 61356-2636 Phone: (815)879-6441 Another suggestion ....contact the the Bureau County Genealogical Society or even call Matson Public Library in the county seat of Princeton. The library houses the genealogy collection and other historic documents. They do have some old church records if the church no longer exists. The link to the genealogy society page is: http://www.anet-chi.com/~jeffb/bureau/bcgs.htm There is a township map of Bureau County at: http://www.outfitters.com/illinois/bureau/com_map_bureau.html The Matson Public Library phone number is at: http://www.anet-chi.com/~jeffb/bureau/bureau.htm#records Good Luck Linda Heaton Matthews The_Guard@msn.com -----Original Message----- From: Robert & Dolores Wyant <ptah@accex.net> To: ILBUREAU-L@rootsweb.com <ILBUREAU-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Tuesday, September 08, 1998 2:04 PM Subject: [ILBUREAU-L] Wyanet, IL >City is in Putnam County... > > Sorry, made a mistake -- > >Found a First Baptist Church on the WWW in Wyanet but no Sandhill, >could name be changed? > >Address: Rr 1 Box 195 >Zip 61379-9767 > >Robert >

    3. Researching James B Hartley who came from PA (or NY, depending on census records). I found him in Bureau County, IL in 1850 census with some of his family. He and his wife Sarah Fritchie were married in IL in 1838-9. He died in 1902 in Greenwood County, KS. How would I locate other researchers?
