My paternal grandmother Morna Evalene (BESS) HIMES born Fayette Co, IL had BESS, BEST, ELMORE, ELAM,CASEBEER, MCDONOUGH ancestors who had Illinois cousins with surnames MERRIMAN, KIMBRO, ANDREWS, SMILEY, JOHNSON and many other Bond, Fayette and Montgomery Co, IL cousins. They are not my direct line, but were some sort of cousins. Grandmother's ancestors came to Illinois starting 1820 on. She was related to nearly all the early surnames in the area.
