Looking for info on James Lingo family and extended family; settled in Bond Co. about 1830 in Old Ripley township. Does anyone have access to the Bond Co. census of 1840? I would like to know who is in the household with Jane Lingo, 129-21 (U.S. Census) and Vol. 4, p. 9 (IL census). James Lingo, b. 1777 VA d. 1835 Bond Co. Jane (Thompson) Lingo, b. 1790 KY d. 1845 Bond or Jefferson Co., IL children James Robinson b. 1814, marr. Elizabeth Cartwright in Bond Co., 1837, and appears in Bond 1840 census. Had land in Fayette Co. too. His wife is said to be a dau. or other relative of well known religious leader, Peter Cartwright. Does anyone know anything about this family? Sarah Francis (or Francis Sarah or Sally) , b. 1817, marr. Emil Claussen, a schoolteacher, in Bond Co., 1835. They removed to Jefferson Co. by 1845. Mary E., b. 1819, marr. _____Hensa about 1837, probably in Bond or Jackson Co. Lived in Jackson Co., and d. 1858 or 1859. Does anyone recognize the Hensa surname? It may be a misspelling, as it is from a census record. Tyre Martin, b. 1821, relocated to Jackson Co. by 1847, then to Arkansas. Archiblad A., b. 1823. Purchased land in Jackson Co. near Tyre in 1853. Died in 1863. Little known about him. Martha Jane, b. 1825, removed to Jackson Co. by 1842. Hartley J., b. 1828, removed to Jackson Co. by 1847. Melvina C., b. 1830, in Jefferson Co. by 1850. America C., b. 1832, d. 1836 probably in Bond Co. Lucinda Evaline, b. 1834, in Jefferson Co. by 1850 William, b. and d. 1836 in Bond Co.? There is a Polly Lingo who married Johnston Fitzhenry in 1853, and a Laura Lingow who married Floranc J. McCarthy in 1872 in Bond Co. Does anyone know anything about these women?
