To Jim Smith, Yes there was a Bunch-Hopton marriage. Is this a Bingo! the first day I am on? I am descended from John Hopton, Sr. and his wife Harriett Stubblefield. mar. 8 April 1813 in Madison Co. IL. Their eldest child and only son was John Jr. His first wife was Frances Bunch. I am from the second wife Julia Ann Dewey. I have the Bible of John Hopton Jr. John mar. Franky Bunch in Dec. 1834. Their children were: Sarah mar. Andrew Jackson Allred; Harrett Elizabeth; Aaron Albert; James Enoch; and Frances Ellen b. 3 Oct 1844, mar. Jim Wildes, or Wiles. Franky died 7 Oct. 1844, so cause of death is obvious. I have never tried to find her parents. I do have that she joined Shoal Creek Presbyterian Church, after her marriage. Greetings Ted and other fellow researchers! Anyone out there looking for departed Sandersons or Davises? My three-great grandfather, Edward D. SANDERSON (b. 1807 VA or KY), married Judith (also Juda) DAVIS d\o John and Frances Davis, in Barren County, KY in 1838. A couple of Judith's siblings married into the POYNTER family in that county. Along about 1841 Edward, his wife and baby son (per 1840 Barren Co. census) moved north to IL along with a bunch of Poynters. They settled first, briefly, in Madison County, then spent several years in Effingham County. Meanwhile, Judith's brother John G. DAVIS and his family moved up to Bond County to settle. Edward's firstborn child died before 1850. Between 1850 and 1855 Judith and their two daughters passed away. In 1855, Edward is living with John G. in Bond County along with surviving sons James Cowan Sanderson and George W. Sanderson. James C. grew up and fought in Civil War, returning after service to marry Lucy Ann DAVIS, daughter of William Davis and Lucy Ann Nance, in Bond Co. in 1866. George W. married Mary Ann Jett in Bond Co. in 1868, then disappeared. (I've since found him down in Arkansas, widowed and remarried.) James C. and Lucy Ann had eleven kids, the eldest being my great grandfather, and lived to ripe old ages. The MYSTERIES: Who were Edward D.'s parents? Was he born in VA, as he claimed, or KY, as his son James C. thought? Were the two Davis families related? Clues, anyone? :) Sandy

I put a "Cemeteries" page up on the web site, but the names came from GNIS -- I notice it doesn't have Mulberry Grove (Debbie was looking for this one) listed at all. is there anyone out there researching mcguire and sellers? jackson mcguire born 1820 married lucinda sellers born 1820 they were married 3/4/1841 bond county illinois children martha j. born 1843 charles r. born 1844 william w. born 2/14/1847 leonard 1848 the family was listed in bond county in 1850 and couln not find them after that. they sold land in 1844, 1847, 1851. martha married john h. bailey and they relocated to adair county, iowa. william and charles were with them in 1870 in adair county, iowa. i know there is several sellers buried in bond county cemetary. Just a word of caution about using fonts. I notice several messages sent out that use nice looking fonts; you know big letters, small letter, italicized letters, letters of different color, etc. Some people have older email packages that are not able to read these messages at all, so YOUR message is worthless to them -- and they might have information on your question that could help YOU. Personally, I find some of the fonts too small to be readable to me, but my email package has no problems with it. Just something to think about.
