Surnames: Zimmerman Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/He.2ADI/200 Message Board Post: Am looking for information about Mr. Zimmerman, married to Fannie Zimmerman, who ran a grocery(?) store in Cairo IL. He was murdered in a robbery about 1875 when a friend's father was two years old. His mother took over the store and apparently the family purchased several properties in Cairo. My friend's father was Louis Zimmerman and he was born in 1873. Fannie would have been about 30. She had three additional children, all daughters: Mary, Lena and Sarah. Louis was the youngest and the only one who married. We are also looking for where he is buried. Any assistance would be welcome. Oh, they were all from what was then known as Austria-Hungary. They had just immigrated (as a family).
