One of my great grandfathers George Allen Mercer and his sister Minnie Mercer were orphaned around 1876. There parents are supposed to be William F. Mercer and Leona. George was born in 1873 and minnie in 1875. George was raised by Lafe and Nancy Whitaker and they later settled in Kearney, Nebraska. Minnie was raised by Samuel and Charlotte Briley. Any advice of where to look?
