Surnames: Green, Henderson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/He.2ADI/145 Message Board Post: I learned recently after searching through family records that my great-grandfather, George Green and his brother 'Lem' Green had staked a claim for land in Henderson County KY back in the late 1800s. Another man "jumped" their claim, and they killed him. They fled back to Alexander County, and changed their names to Henderson. My grandfather was John Henry Henderson, grandma was Lois (Dodson) Henderson. They are buried in the Thebes Cemetery. Does anyone have any information on this, like who they killed, how, when, where, etc.? My dad is Lonnie Henderson, who grew up down there and we still have relatives around there. Who do I contact for birth, death, marriage, etc. certificates for dates in Alexander County? Please advise, and thank you.
