I would suggest you try to get a copy of Alexander-Pulaski County Plat map booklet, which used to be sold at the Farm Bureau office in Mounds, Ill. It shows all the small backroads and highways in both counties. Also, a full tank of gas when you go exploring, because it's very easy to take a wrong turn and have to drive for miles before you can figure out where you are when you start driving thru some of the areas you mentioned.
