I am looking for Wilshires that may have lived in Alexander County in 1861. My great great uncle, Joseph Wilshire, married Mary Saunders in Cairo in 1861. I am trying to find out whether my great great grandmother, Elizabeth, was living with him at the time. Their name was spelled "Welcher" in the 1880 census, so there may be a variation of the spelling.
