Livings, Jr., was killed by Consumtion - "TB" and he went to visit his sister in Newton, Iowa on August 7, 1885, thinking that a change in climate might help him. He lived until November 12, 1885 and later was brought back to Cairo and put in Beechwood C. The reason for this story, is that in June of 1885 my gr. grandmother Elizabeth Albert Livings was born and was christen on August 22, 1885 at the First United Methodist Church, in Cairo and was living with her grandmother Margaret Hartman Smith. Sometime after her birth she lost her mother Leah Elizabeth <Lizzie Smith> Livings and a older sister Ellie May born 1878 in Cairo, they are in Beechwood, also. In Albert G. Livings obt, it only mentions he had two living daughters, one living with his sister in Iowa and the other living in Cairo. Since he had been suffering from his TB for a few months, we presume that was happen to his wife and oldest daughter, also. So, I have a puzzle to solve. We would appreciate it if someone could find a account of what happen during May-August period of 1885 in Cairo. Was Consumption - "TB" widespread or did it just hit my ancestors? Also, if someone could find the date my gr.gr. grandmother Lizzie Livings lived to; it would be appreciated. Thank you, Mary
