Surnames: Legg, Conner Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/He.2ADI/153 Message Board Post: My grandmother, Goldie Mae (Watson)(Conner) Legg moved with my father and her second husband Hugh Legg to the Cairo area for some period between 1905 - 1915 before returning to Indianapolis, IN. In 1920 Legg appears in the Indianapolis census as a tractor salesman, born in Colorado. I am hoping for any of the following information from people familiar with this period (1) were there one or more major tractor manufacturing firms or regional headquarters for such in the Cairo area in the 1910's? (2) Legg might have had relatives in the Cairo area. Does the surname Legg hold significance to anyone in Alexander Co. ? (3) Does the name Conner hold any significance re the Cairo area? Any relevant information much appreciated. Dick Conner in Las Vegas

3. I had seen those at ILTrails before, they have a link out to my website and my picture links as well. In fact, I have a link posted at my place directly to your picture too, as well as a couple of Olive Branch pictures that I believe Denise now has posted on ILTrails That top row, third from the left, roguish looking fellow is my grandfather, Louis Elijah "Lige" Williamson. I really like the way you list additional information on some of the individuals, as far as who their parents were, or who they married. That is very nice to see. 1. Henderson Geneaology: I struck Gold!
2. Thank you for the responses to my query about the Hendersons, and unfortunately the Greene tale was a tall one after all. I found a link with the entire family tree, complete with fruits, nuts, and crooked branches, at this Gedcom site: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~kelly/bialk_009.htm This traces everyone, and I mean EVERY ONE, back to 1470 Scotland. So, Sidneys' great-niece, Connie, I hope this helps you, too. Jane Henderson Day
