    2. Jim Williamson
    3. Denise, a lot of the information I got concerning the Twente School picture I posted came from or through members of the list who saw it and recognized many of the people in the pictures. The link I posted under the 1934 picture I have on my site links to a 1932 picture for Twente School, if you could use that picture to possibly match some of the older children in the 32' picture to ones in the '30 picture you have you might possibly match up. Also, if you could scan them and pass them along to me, I will post them up and get them linked over to the ILtrails Alexander County site as well, the more people that see them, the better your chances of IDing everyone in them. I have two pictures from my Grandmother (Helen Hall), they would have been taken around 1927 to 1930 that are class photos. She lived in Olive Branch at the time, so I had thought it was probably a Twente Crossing School picture? I'm trying to identify some of the children in the photos. Thanks for any help! 1. Birth and Death records...
    2. Dear Listers, Does anyone on this list have access to birth records around 1882 and up or Death records for 1880 to a little after 1900 in Alexander Co.? Desperately seeking any info that would prove ancestors were there between 1880 and 1900. Also, I'm planning a trip to Alexander Co., IL this fall, can someone suggest a Motel and where I should conduct my research? Is there an archive or genealogy library in Cape Girardeau and Cairo? Thanks for any help or suggestions! Best regards, Judy Lee

I will be checking today to be sure which school this is in the picture since several people think it may not be Olive Branch. The gentleman who I got the picture from is one of the people in the picture, I'll try to contact him this evening to verify which school it is and make the appropriate changes to the website. I do have in my posession a picture that I will soon be posting to my website of the entire student body probably aroujnd 1933-1934 judging from the look of my grandfather in the picture. He was born in 1923 and appears to be about 10-11 years old in this group photo. I recently had a copy of the picture mailed to me by some very kind folks I met on my trip to Olive Branch last June, they managed to get it scanned and mailed it to me in mid-August. It also has a list of who all the people are that are in it. Jim Williamson

    1. CARTER's, MOULTON's and SMITHSON's
    2. I'm posting again just in case someone new to the list might see this..... I'm seeking information on CARTER's in Alexander Co., IL. James Carroll CARTER, wife, Mary Ann SMITHSON-CARTER and their two children, Cora and Albert CARTER were in Alexander Co., IL in 1880. What happened to them??? Are they buried in Alexander Co.? Did James's brother, William Jackson, (Jack) CARTER and his wife, Augusta, Angeline MOULTON-CARTER come to Alexander Co., IL too??? Are they perhaps buried there??? They had another brother, Wade Hampton, (Hamp), CARTER who lived in Stoddard Co., MO at the time. He died there around 1903. There were other relatives there as well. James and William have been a dead-end for me for several years now. Family legend states they both died before 1900 but, I can't prove or disprove this. Please, if anyone has any information, contact me!! I'm planning a trip to Cairo in the near future. Does anyone on this list know of a good motel to stay at? Will the library be finished with renovations by end of September??? Thanks for any assistance! Best regards, Judy Lee Watts
