Hello listers: After a few years of researching other lines of my family, I am back to researching my family in Adams County, Illinois. Can someone please direct me to the cemetery indexes where my ancestors (died between 1838-1850) might have been buried. John Cobb lived near Quincy when his chidren died; his son (unnamed) died 15 Aug 1845 - six months old, his daughter (unnamed) died15 Jan 1848 at almost one year old, his wife, Jane Ann (Leypold or Laypold) Cobb died 12 Jan 1848 - age unknown Rufus Deming lived in Ellington, Quincy - *2nd Wife of Rufus Curtis Deming (DAMON): Lucy Tibbetts Born: 22 Nov 1795 in Rochester, Stafford County, New Hampshire Died: Bef. 06 Dec 1838 in prob. Quincy, Adams County, Ill *3rd Wife of Rufus Curtis Deming (DAMON): ... +Sarah Perry Died: Bef. 10 Jun 1848 in prob. Ellington TWP, Quincy, Adams Co, Illinois Any help in pointing me in the direction where I can find these relatives will be greatfully appreciated. I believe that there might still be some of Rufus's descendants living in Adams County and I am hoping to make contact with them. Rufus and Mary (Farra) Deming had four children in Belmont County, Ohio. Their daughter, Esther (Deming) married John Cobb in Quincy - moved to California in 1850. Rufus followed them a few years later. It is possible that Rufus' son, Oliver may have returned to Quincy after living in Missouri and Wisconsin (near his brother Joseph?) and that some of his descendants remain in Adams County today. Thank you so much. Margie Hinton in California
