He was married to Elizabeth George about 1828 in Tennessee, she was a sister to the wife of his twin brother James Crank. He and she are buried in the Franklin Cemetery, located to the Northwest of the town of Mendon, Adams County, Illinois. At the enumeration of the 1860 census page #477, for Mendon Township, Adams County, Illinois, the family of Jesse, age 55, born in Tennessee and Elizabeth George Crank, age 48, born in Tennessee, were living next to the family of Jacob and Sarah E. (Crank?) Meltabarger, the parents of Sarah Eva Meltabarger, who later became the wife of James William Mayfield, the eldest son of Uriah and Mary Jane Grimes Mayfield, parents to my maternal great-grandparents, Henry Crittenden and Amanda Margaret Wade Mayfield. sources: Tennessee: 1829, Knox County, Tennessee Marriage Records, 1792-1900, p.244: Marriages from Early Tennessee Newspapers 1794-1851, p.107: from "The National Banner and Nashville Whig", issue 21 Feb 1829: "Mr. Jesse Crank married in Knox County to Miss Elizabeth George". Papers of Richard L. Crank, Monck's Corner, South Carolina, names three daughters of Jesse Crank as Mary Jane, Susan and Elizabeth. **Note: Elizabeth was possibly the oldest daughter, born 1825-30 in Tennessee.
