He was married to Elizabeth George about 1828 in Tennessee, she was a sister to the wife of his twin brother James Crank. He and she are buried in the Franklin Cemetery, located to the Northwest of the town of Mendon, Adams County, Illinois. At the enumeration of the 1860 census page #477, for Mendon Township, Adams County, Illinois, the family of Jesse, age 55, born in Tennessee and Elizabeth George Crank, age 48, born in Tennessee, were living next to the family of Jacob and Sarah E. (Crank?) Crank, Monck's Corner, South Carolina, names three daughters of Jesse Crank as Mary Jane, Susan and Elizabeth. **Note: Elizabeth was possibly the oldest daughter, born 1825-30 in Tennessee.
