Lois, Thanks for the date of construction. My grandfather was a contractor and a carpenter. He lived in Basco in Hancock county from 1900 to 1926 then in Quincy 1926 to 1928 when he moved to Oklahoma. I know that he worked on a mausoleum in Galesburg at one time by boarding the train in Basco on a daily basis. That was the reason that I thought it possible that he might have worked on the church. Yes, I have checked the newspaper archive for him. There was not a lot there but it is interesting how much material exists in the newspaper for towns outside Adams county. Judy
