Mr. Waters was born Dec. 26, 1933, at Siloam Ill., a son of Issac Charles and Lucy Myrle Lanham Waters. He married Dorothy Ann Bartz on Feb. 7, 1953, in Quincy. She survives. Mrs. Waters was a member of Hester Baptist Church, Machinists Local 822, Quarter-Century Club and Moose Lodge of Quincy and he enjoyed woodworking. Russell had worked for Gardner- Denver in Quincy for 42 years, retiring in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Stephen of Jefferson City, Michael D. and his wife, Marcia, of May- wood, and Dennis "Buck" and his wife, Ann, of Taylor; three daughters, Sue Johnson and her husband, Tom, of Durham, Tammy Tate and her husband, Richard, of Durham, and Debbie Benedict and her husband, Steve of Maywood; two sisters, Leona Montoya of Tampa, Fla., and Jessie Goodwin and her husband, Kent, of Miami, Okla.; nine grandsons, A! aron and Andy Johnson, Jason and Matthew Waters, Adam Tate, Ryan Waters, Seth and Nicholas Waters and Lincoln Benedict; five grand daughters, Leslie Waters, Sarah Phillips, Hillary and Morgan Benedict and Jaclyn Waters; and nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Adalyn, Mike and Maggie Johnson, Payton and Issac Phillips, Shelby Tate and Alexandria Waters. Mr. Waters was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Andrew; two brothers, Cale and Eugene Waters; and a sister Nina Wood. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing by the Rev. Duane Lorenson. Burial will be in Maywood Cemetery in Maywood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Ball-Davis Funeral Home in Ewing. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Building Fund for Hester Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Henry Brocksmith, Ron Guthrie, Bobby Dodd, Bill Cramsey, Norma Doran, Paul Wingerter, Wayne Hempelman and Onley Carter.
