The indian was Adam O Welfelt (sometimes seen with two l's). He married by mothers great aunt Charlotte Hannas (appears sometimes without the s) They moved west to Kansas in the 1870's. He died pretty early (see find a grave: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=welfelt&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=42032128&) she lived past 1930 (still listed in 1930 census as Mother, Grant Welfelt household). Her sister was my grandmother, and stayed in the Stroudsburg part of Monroe county.
