Two of her boys, Robert and Curtis Speaker(my grandfather) made several trips to Germany, at some point bringing back dogs. Mom tells me they worked as in merchant marines. Young and adventurous, I guess. Mom has fond memories and pictures of some of the dogs. She grew up on the farm in Farmer, Ohio and has many stories told by her Grandma Rosa. I live relatively close to Defiance County if you have photo or research requests, I can get yours while I work on my own.
