Shawnee - Minerva "Effie" Thompson (born about 1821), my g-grandmother's half-sister, married John Pilcher on 17 Jan 1839 in Adams County, IL. His parents were Edward (born 1814 ) & Nancy Pilcher. Edward and both John and Effie were born in Athens County, Ohio. The Thompson clan (5 brothers and their families) settled in Adams County in 1834. Children of John and Minerva were: Laura Grace married Alexander Crooks William married Emma Dilley Elsie (?) Sara "Sallie" married Lamar Farnsworth George married Phoebe Lease Josiah Will Pilcher and his family, and Sallie and Lamar Farnsworth, along with Minerva settled in Reno County, Kansas in the 1870s. Any connections to your line?
Yes they would be distant cousins. Edward would be a descendant of Caleb Pilcher which is the brother of my 7th great grandfather Robert Pilcher who was born in 1708 in Wales. I figure though a cousin is a cousin.
