Hello Linda When you have a chance, could you check to see if there is anything known about a death date and cemetery for these two people --- Borchert Jansen Schoen, b. 05 Nov 1808, migrated at age 57 in 1865 to Adams Co. Illinois. His wife was Etta / Margarethe / Margaret Habben Schoen, b. 01 Jun 1817, Germany. The 1870 census indicates Berget J. Shon and his wife are at Keokuk Junction, Northeast Twnshp. I cannot locate either of them in the 1880 census so am wondering if they died 1870-1880. Their son John, b. 1844 Germany, d. 1923 Adams Co. Illinois is listed in Boyken, however Borchert and Ette are not in Boyken, so maybe they died before 1882 (first publication of the Nachrichten/Boyken). I have seen the Schoen name spelled as Schoon, Schoen, Shoon, Schone. I have seen the name Borchert, spelled as Berget, Burchardt, Burghard, Boerchert . . . Borchert and Ette Schoen might be in the same cemetery as son John, but I don't know. Thanks for your help, have a nice Easter weekend. Diana --------------------------------- Be a PS3 game guru. Diana, I spent about an hour at the Quincy library and another hour here at home looking for both the Schoen and Saathoff names. I can't find where any of them are buried. I know that some of the Saathoof kids and their kids are buried at the Ev. Lutheran cemetery in Golden but couldn't find anything fro Mimke or his wife. I will keep looking.
