She retired Sunday evening about 9:30, having uttered no complaint as to her physical condition. She was at that hour in usual health, which at no time for years past had been bad. A young lady slept in the same bed, retiring an hour or so after Mrs. Hass did, and knew nothing as to the hour that death came. She was not aware of the death of Mrs. Hass until yesterday morning. The coroner was summoned and his jury returned a verdict that death resulted from heart disease. Death evidently came in a painless manner, as her features and general appearance indicated that her departure was without a struggle. The deceased was a native of Hanover Germany. She came to America forty-two years ago, and lived in St. Louis a number of years. She had long resided in Quincy, and twenty nine years ago she was wedded to Lambert Hass, and leaves two children- George Hass, of this city, and Mrs. Henry Raehling, of St. Louis. She was well known and highly esteemed. Quincy Daily Journal (Roll 92) Tuesday 5 Sept 1887 the last page, col 2 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
