List members - I am looking for information about the death of Dr. Samuel Thompson, my gg-grandfather. Some of my fellow researchers put his death on 10 March of 1870 but I believe that he was still living at this time. Other researchers believe his death came on 10 March of 1879 or later. He is believed to have died in New London, Missouri. Dr. Thompson was one of five brothers that came to Adams County, IL, in 1834 from Athens County, Ohio. Joseph Thompson, the eldest brother, married Priscilla Crandall, the first child born in Adams County. Dr. Thompson is referred to in my family documents as a saddlebag doctor. Since he was a fairly early settler and physician in the area as well as a member of a fairly well known family, it would seem likely that an obit was published in one or more of the local newspapers. Can anyone help me in confirming the date and place of death or obtaining an obit for him? Thank you, Lucy
