This is definitely the family I'm researching. John's sister, Jennie was married to Manley Hoffman. I know that in 1890-1891, John & Fred Reed and Manley Hoffman owned a Drug Store together in Memphis, TN. I am surprised that it didn't list his sister as a survivor since she did not pass away until 1963. It would be interesting to see what's in the locations of John's stores today. Do you know where the Veterans Home is located that was mentioned in James Reed's obit? Also, per the IL MARRIAGE INDEX: REED, JOHN W married MOSSER, IDA L on 02/09/1887 in KNOX County.
