Hi, Seekers! Have you tried searching for a variation in the spelling of GOVEY - perhaps the 'Y' was 'dropped' or changed to GOVEN, or the or the 'V' changed to GOYEN. This often happened in a census or legal papers. This usually happened because whoever was doing the writing would write down what was heard in pronounciation, and not all of our ancestors could spell or read.
