Jose, I read your note about Reinhold Mueller with great interest, especially when I saw the name of his older brother, Herman Mueller. The 2nd marriage of my ggr. aunt, Catherine E. Whittaken, on April 22, 1865 in Adams Co., IL., was to Herman Miller (b: 1815-1816 in Lippe\Prussia\Germany). Herman's 1st marriage was to Dickmon ____?___ (b: abt 1827 in Germany). The children from Herman's 1st marriage were William (1848), Fredrick (1853), Mary (1855), and Rene (1859) and were all born near Burton, Adams Co., IL. With the variations in spelling of the surname Miller/Mueller, I wonder if it is possible that this Herman Miller may have been may have been related to those that you are searching for. Could it be that he is the namesake for your great-uncle who died at age 18? ~Carolyn From: Jose Reyes <[email protected]> Subject: [ILADAMS] William Frederick Mueller of Quincy I'm looking for any information about William Frederick Mueller, my great-grandfather, who was born in Quincy, IL on Sept 30, 1878 or 1879; as well as information on his family. His parents were Reinhold Mueller and Luise Behr. Luise had siblings in Quincy or Bloomington, but I don't know much about Reinhold. She died in 1881. He had an older brother, Herman, who died when he was 18. He had four children: Gustav, Louisa (my grandmother), Henry, and Lincoln. Would appreciate any leads. Thanks. Jose Reyes
Carolyn, I don't think so. Herman was Reinhold's son, not brother. (That is, Herman was my great-uncle, the brother of William Frederick.) Herman was born in New York, according to the 1880 census, assuming that's accurate. I know he died around 1888, at the age of around 17 or 18. Thanks, though. It was worth a try.
