It was good to see a Hewitt request in Adams County. James Oliver Hewitt was born Jan. 1856 in Illinois. I find one who fits his description in 1880 census listed as a "nephew " living at the Lewis Coder home. I have a photo of the Hewitts, unidentified (naturally) except for the 6 month old child who was designated to be James Oliver Hewitt. There was another child in the photo who was probably 2 or 3 years of age. James was left an orphan at an early age. I would like to hear from you.
